Science:

We read 4-1.  We completed the following questions:

1.  What is meiosis and why is it important?

2.  How do the chromosomes move during meiosis?

3.  Compare and contrast meiosis and mitosis.

We then made study cards for each of the steps of meiosis.

Wednesday, November 4

Science:

We watched a video on meiosis.  We completed a quiz while we watched.  If you were absent, just write me a paragraph about meiosis.  Tell me what it is, how it takes place, and why it is important.  Be sure that you have finished up your meiosis cards.

ELA:

We took our test over “The Monkey’s Paw”.  We then defined the following words: vehement, gesticulate, hearken, acute, dissimulate, vex, profound, sagacity, derision, crevice, marrow, suave, audacity, ere, supposition, wane  You should write all of the definitions except for profound and acute.  Use the following sentences to decide which definition to write.

The profound old man thought a great deal about life.

His sense of hearing was acute, and he could hear the slightest noise.

I will also be collecting the wanted poster or the wishmaker design tomorrow.  Be sure to color it and make it look good.  Make sure that you have included all of the required details.
